Hi, I'm Lauren, the artist behind Velvet Flame Photography!

 

I'm a plus-size, tattoo-covered, queer artist based in Kansas City (and sometimes everywhere, thanks to my con-traveling adventures!). I’ve spent more than 16 years capturing humans in all their forms, and one thing has always stayed true: my camera is my way of helping people come home to themselves.

I don’t just pose you and snap a few shots. I create a vibe, a story, a world around you. A realm where your body is celebrated, your weirdness is welcome, and your vision is brought to life with intention and joy. My work is rooted in hands-on, hype-you-up direction and cinematic flair, with just the right blend of softness, sparkle, and edge.
